Any home health aide with the necessary training can take advantage of the many employment opportunities available in Michigan. These professional caregivers can assist nurses, and most understand the fundamentals of basic nutrition, have the knowledge necessary to detect a health crisis, provide basic first aid and help the patient with personal hygiene.

Home Health Aide is just another word for a caregiver. in other countries, all other auxiliary personnel that provide some form of care to patients have been called nurse aides. and then there were caregivers, then healthcare aides, now home health aide. people are just using the same concept with a different wrapper. same functions. same patients.

This blog is very helpful to determine the roles of a professional home health aide worker or popularly known as caregiver from other health care providers. Professional caregivers are more focused on seniors and patients with chronic illnesses and disabilities. I approve that each one has roles that is essential for the health care industry.

Although I will probably not consider being an HAA, I admire those who are doing these. We need many caregivers because of an aging population. I have family members who used to do this type of job and it is a hard one that requires dedication, physical strength and above all, compassion.
